If someone signs better or has a greater musical talent, his talents would benefit others. So there is no place for envy.
God says in Verse 32 of Surah An-Nisa:
“Do not envy the favors which God has granted to some of you. Men and women will both be rewarded according to their deeds, rather pray to God for His favors. God knows all things.”
This verse has a great lesson for all people to accept what has been given to others and avoid making complaints about them.
Even if they have nothing, all people have God and His friendship is the greatest wealth and is superior to all favors.
God has created humans with different talents. If some are favored with special qualities and favors, most of the time they would benefit other people.
All musicians, for example, have spent their musical talents for others. Great figures in history belong to all humans and what they did serve the whole humanity.
Of course there is a situation in which one should not accept differences and special favors and that is when it comes to implementing the law and in enjoying equal freedom of expression and right to choose one’s religion, occupation and path. In such issues, there should be no discrimination.
That is the case when it comes to gender as well. Men and women are equal before God. Of course there are differences in talents, aptitudes and physical, mental and social conditions of men and women that should be taken into considerations.
If man has been given the heavy responsibility of earning a living for life, in turn he is also given more share in inheritance. This apparent inequality is in fact to create equality because the woman inherits one-third but it is her own whereas the man gets two-thirds and he has to share it with another woman.
So some social privileges given to men are because men have responsibilities that require them to act as a pillar for the home.
